President Dr. Irfaan Ali has made it clear that the planned high span bridge across the Berbice River, is important for the development of Berbice.
He was at the time speaking during the Berbice Development Summit, which was attended by both local and international investors.
The bridge is one of a number of other infrastructure initiatives planned for Berbice, which include a Deep water port.
A high span Berbice river bridge would be built in much the same fashion as the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge that was opened only recently.
