New $6.4 Million Play Park Enhances Community Well-being

Residents of the Wyburg-Caracas area in Region 6 now have a vibrant new space to enjoy quality family time, thanks to the opening of a $6.4 million play park.

Funded by the Chinese Embassy in Guyana, this play park is situated opposite the Lochaber Primary School in West Canje, Berbice.

It offers a range of amenities including slides, seesaws, swings, and a sanitary block, providing families and friends with a safe and enjoyable environment for recreation and relaxation.

Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Guo Haiyan, expressed pride in the embassy’s contribution to fostering friendship between the Chinese and Guyanese people through such initiatives.

He emphasized the significance of the play park as a comfortable space for residents and a joyful playground for children to engage in outdoor activities.

Regional Chairman, David Armogan, conveyed his appreciation to the Chinese Embassy for investing in the well-being of the Region Six community.

He highlighted the importance of the play park in promoting social development and physical fitness among children, emphasizing its role as a pillar of the country’s overall development process.

The project represents a collaborative effort between the Chinese Embassy and the Government of Guyana through the Regional Democratic Council.

It symbolizes the commitment to enhancing community infrastructure and fostering a sense of togetherness among residents.
