The National Communications Network (NCN) celebrated the achievements of its dedicated staff by presenting awards in its inaugural NCN Production Awards for 2023.
The event, graced by Prime Minister Mark Phillips, the NCN Board, and management, was a testament to the hard work and excellence displayed by employees in the Radio and Television production department and the Newsroom.
A total of eight awards were presented across various categories.
Tracy Liverpool received recognition for her outstanding news piece, while Omena Ally was honored in the radio category.
Onessa Brotherson was celebrated for her exceptional television feature, and Carl Lockhart was commended for his contributions as a graphics artist.
Goldwyn Crandon was acknowledged as an exemplary videographer, while Linden Davidson was named the Best TV and OB Presenter.
Saona Jerome received the Top Sales and Marketing award, and Wendell Badrie was recognized for the Most Social Media Engagement.
Prime Minister Mark Phillips expressed gratitude for NCN’s pivotal role in disseminating government development programs and projects.
He stressed the importance of effective storytelling and impactful messaging in conveying public information, citing the coverage of the construction of the new Linden Sports facility as an example.
NCN’s acting CEO, Neaz Subhan, highlighted the significance of the awards in raising the standard of productions.
He emphasized the importance of investing in employees to encourage continuous improvement and innovation.
Melissa Edwards-French, the Production Manager, acknowledged the staff’s exemplary work as a testament to NCN’s commitment to excellence.
She highlighted the significant achievements in 2023, including the production of 956 TV features and 70 live outside multi-camera outside broadcasts.
The event received over 80 entries from staff across NCN’s branches, reflecting the widespread participation and dedication of its employees.
