NCN and DPI Celebrate Emancipation with Cultural Program

The National Communications Network (NCN) and the Department of Public Information (DPI) joined forces to commemorate Emancipation Day with a vibrant cultural program featuring staff performances.

The event was held in the compound at Homestretch Avenue, showcasing a variety of artistic expressions.

The celebration included drumming, dancing, and a fashion show, all performed by staff members from both agencies.

The event aimed to honor Guyana’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of unity among its people.

Key messages of unity, perseverance, and cultural appreciation were delivered by the heads of both NCN and DPI.

NCN’s Chief Executive Officer (ag), Neaz Subhan, emphasized the importance of reflecting on the sacrifices made by ancestors to preserve their culture, which has enriched the nation’s diversity.

DPI Director Edward Layne expressed joy in seeing participants dressed in African attire, highlighting the country’s cultural melting pot and mutual respect for one another’s traditions.

The event provided an opportunity for staff members to express their commitment to cultural preservation while celebrating the significance of Emancipation.
