National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) Mock Exams Kick Off in Guyana

The first set of mock exams for the 2024 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) is currently in progress across Guyana.

Students are engaging in English and Science Papers one and two, with Mathematics and Social Studies, papers one and two scheduled for the following day.

This preparatory phase is crucial for students as they gear up for the official NGSA scheduled on the second and third of May.

Education Minister Priya Manickchand has underlined the significance of these mock exams in ensuring that students are well-prepared for the actual assessment.

She announced that a second mock exam is slated for March, providing another opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the examination format and content.

In a video statement, Minister Manickchand emphasized the collaborative effort required from parents, teachers, and students.

She urged parents to leverage the available resources to support their children in their preparation for the NGSA.

The minister’s appeal reflects the importance of a holistic approach involving all stakeholders in the education process.

As the NGSA approaches, these mock exams serve as a valuable tool for both students and educators to identify areas that may need additional attention.

The Ministry of Education is committed to providing the necessary support and resources to ensure that students can perform at their best during the official assessment in May.

The ongoing efforts to streamline the examination process and enhance students’ preparedness underscore Guyana’s commitment to promoting quality education and academic excellence.
