The push to eliminate gender-based violence and discrimination in the workplace has gained new national momentum.

The business community, civil society groups, and several government agencies have joined forces with the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security to launch the National Gender Equality and Empowerment Seal—a Programme aimed at building safer and more respectful workplaces across Guyana.

According to Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Keoma Griffith, this initiative represents a strong national stand for fairness and dignity for every worker.

Meanwhile, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, highlighted that strengthening workplace fairness is essential for national progress.

She said the Seal is designed to ensure every worker from security officers to single parents, feels safe, respected, and valued.

The Gender Equality and Empowerment Seal aims to drive long-term change across industries by promoting inclusivity, supporting women’s advancement, and helping organizations align with Guyana’s development goals.
