As part of the National Agriculture Month activities, the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI) hosted an open-day event at Rose Hall, Region Six.
The event provided local farmers with the opportunity to showcase and sell their various agricultural produce to the public.
In his address, Regional Executive Officer Narendra Persaud emphasized that the transformation of the agricultural sector cannot be achieved by the government alone.
He highlighted the importance of collective efforts from all stakeholders, including farmers, scientists, and local businesses, in achieving Guyana’s food security goals.
He urged farmers and entrepreneurs to continue innovating, investing, and inspiring one another as they work toward building a brighter agricultural future for the country.
Agriculture Month is being observed under the theme “Transforming Tomorrow, Championing Food Security Through Innovation and Technology.”
