NAREI Enhances Soil Testing with New Equipment

By Josiah Williams

The National Agriculture Research and Extension Institute (NAREI) has received new soil testing equipment, courtesy of the Canadian Government’s Sustainable Agriculture project.

The donation includes soil testing probes, augers, and hana soil kits designed to improve the accuracy and speed of soil analysis for farmers.

This equipment will enable more precise soil testing, addressing issues of food security and climate change.

Training will be provided to 30 extension officers and members of the Agriculture Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme.

NAREI CEO Jagnarine Singh announced that a new lab is also set to be established soon to further enhance soil testing capabilities.
