The Region Ten Tourism Committee (RTTC) is continuing its efforts to boost tourism in the region through a series of capacity-building programs. Chairman Devin Sears announced that the initiative, funded by the Greater Guyana Initiative, will host these sessions over the next several months.

Recognizing capacity building as crucial to bolstering tourism, the RTTC launched its tourism capacity-building project earlier this month.

This initiative aims to enhance the region’s tourism potential through comprehensive training and implementation programs.

Chairman Devin Sears emphasized that capacity building goes beyond infrastructure improvements.

“We have developed an 18-24 month ongoing program that includes several training sessions,” Sears stated.

The RTTC has already completed several training sessions, including customer service and tour guiding.

This weekend, a business development training session facilitated by Joyanne Ramnauth will be held at the Linden Fund Building.

“The business development training will educate individuals on starting their own businesses, securing funding, and navigating the registration process,” Sears explained.

Next weekend, the RTTC will host a food preparation training session, where participants can learn essential culinary skills and techniques.

This session will be facilitated by Karen Cummings.

Sears noted that these capacity-building trainings will continue twice a month, covering a variety of topics to support the region’s tourism growth.
