The Mohamed family was recently handed the keys to their new home as part of the Men on Mission (MoM) initiative, an effort aimed at supporting Guyanese citizens in need.

The family expressed their deep gratitude towards the government, especially President Irfaan Ali, for the assistance that made the dream of homeownership a reality.

Rasheed Mohamed, the beneficiary of the new home, shared his heartfelt thanks during the handover ceremony. He explained that, due to a medical condition affecting his ability to work, he often relied on fishing to support his family.

The new home will provide a better living space for not only Rasheed, his wife, and daughter, but also for his elderly parents.

Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony, who attended the handover, emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens through various social initiatives, including the provision of housing.

He also called on others to join the Men on Mission movement, encouraging volunteerism and community service.

Minister Anthony highlighted the importance of Men on Mission in supporting youth development and building stronger communities across the country.

Launched on October 29, 2022, Men on Mission is set to celebrate its second anniversary in the coming weeks.

The initiative has made a tangible impact on the lives of many, with the Mohamed family being one of the latest to benefit from the program.

The government’s goal is to continue fostering a more inclusive and supportive society, aligning with President Ali’s vision of “One Guyana.”

Through such efforts, the Men on Mission initiative continues to work toward improving the quality of life for many Guyanese families, offering them not just homes but opportunities for a brighter future.
