In celebration of International Literacy Day on September 8, 2024, the Ministry of Education’s Literacy Department inaugurated a new primary school library at St. Aidan’s Primary School in Blue Berry Hill, Education District 10.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ministry to launch one library in each school district across the country.

The library at St. Aidan’s Primary has been upgraded with a collection of 262 out of 460 new books published by the Ministry of Education.

This addition is aimed at enhancing the educational resources available to students and fostering a greater love for reading.

Ericka Allen, the Deputy Head Teacher at St. Aidan’s Primary, expressed her gratitude for the school’s selection for this initiative.

Allen acknowledged the support of the teachers and staff who contributed to the successful launch of the library.

She assured that the school would make optimal use of the library, aiming to enrich the educational experience of its students.

The launch of this library is part of the ongoing Education Month 2024 activities and reflects the Ministry’s commitment to promoting literacy and providing valuable learning materials to primary school pupils.
