The Ministry of Education took proactive steps to address various issues during an Open Day activity held in Region Six.
Led by Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain, Deputy CEO for Development Volika Jaikishun, and Regional Education Officer Sattish Udit, the initiative aimed to engage with parents, teachers, students, and the public to address concerns within the education system.
The team convened at the Rose Hall Town Sub Office to facilitate discussions and provide solutions.
Subsequently, they visited several schools, including the Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary School in Port Mourant, to assess pressing issues firsthand.
Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain expressed satisfaction with the response to the outreach, highlighting the department’s commitment to resolving identified issues promptly.
He noted that more than half of the 20 complaints received had already been addressed or were scheduled for resolution in the coming week.
During the engagement at the Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary School, Hussain reiterated the department’s dedication to addressing raised concerns promptly.
The team also met with trainees, lecturers, and administrative staff at the Cyril Potter College of Education, Rose Hall Centre, furthering their efforts to enhance educational quality and infrastructure.
As the Ministry of Education continues its efforts to improve the education system, such initiatives underscore its commitment to addressing community needs and fostering development.
