Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Sonia Parag, led a community outreach effort in several Corentyne Coast communities, including No. 77, Masjid Square Corriverton, and Jonnie Square in Line Path.
The objective of the meeting was to inform residents about the benefits of the 2024 budgetary allocations and to address their concerns directly.
During the outreach, Minister Parag actively listened to the concerns voiced by residents, addressing issues such as the state of roads and bridges, long waiting hours at hospitals, and drainage and irrigation challenges.
She assured residents that assessments would be conducted and necessary actions taken to address their grievances.
Additionally, Minister Parag instructed local authorities to tackle matters related to drainage, irrigation, and garbage collection promptly.
Highlighting the government’s focus on development, Minister Parag outlined major projects outlined in the 2024 budget.
She emphasized the government’s efforts to mitigate challenges inherited from previous administrations and underscored the importance of investments in various sectors.
In her address to residents, Minister Parag stressed the significance of community collaboration in building a prosperous Guyana.
She outlined plans for Region Six, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering trade and industry investments in the region.
