Minister Parag Warns Against Unapproved Hiring, Emphasizes Professionalism in Public Service

Minister of Public Service, Sonia Parag, issued a stern caution to both personnel and Human Resource Administrators regarding the hiring process without prior approvals from the Ministry.

Minister Parag emphasized the repercussions of hiring individuals without proper approvals, pointing out the negative impact on the Ministry’s reputation, despite the Ministry not being at fault in such situations.

While advocating for a culture of excellence and professionalism within the Ministries, Minister Parag addressed the misconception that individuals remain unpaid for months due to pending Ministry approval.

She stressed the need to refrain from physically employing individuals before official confirmation.

Minister Parag spoke during the recent Annual Personnel Practitioners Workshop, urging personnel to carefully consider their choices despite critical vacancies and organizational needs.

She highlighted the importance of assessing actual requirements rather than merely meeting quotas, encouraging units to evaluate the workload distribution among their members.

Minister Parag clarified that while the government aims to create job opportunities, it doesn’t translate to every public office being responsible.

The initiative extends to both private and public sectors nationwide, aiming for a holistic approach to job creation.
