Minister of Education Priya Manickchand has expressed confidence in the students sitting the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and offered words of encouragement via her social media platform.
Despite the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led these students to leave classrooms during Grade 2, the Ministry of Education has worked diligently to consolidate the curriculum and provide necessary interventions to prepare them for the examination.
Minister Manickchand believes that the students are well-prepared and ready to excel.
She shared some helpful tips, emphasizing the importance of reading questions carefully and checking answers thoroughly.
While encouraging students to do their best, the Minister also acknowledged that not all students will secure placements in top schools.
However, she assured that efforts are underway to ensure equal access to quality education for all students.
To accommodate the increased number of students taking the exam this year, the Education Ministry has established additional exam centers.
Additionally, students have been granted an extra 10 minutes to review their questions and answers thoroughly.
A total of 15,488 students are scheduled to sit for this year’s NGSA, with the results expected to be announced in July.
