In a continued effort to address community concerns and improve living standards, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, visited the communities of Goed Fortuin and De Kinderen in Region Three on Monday.
The outreach was in response to residents’ requests for infrastructure upgrades and other community improvements.
During the meeting, residents of both communities raised several concerns related to road conditions, street lighting, and drainage systems.
They also pointed out issues caused by abandoned vehicles and debris along roadways, which have contributed to congestion and safety hazards.
Minister Indar assured the residents that these matters would be prioritized and recalled previous visits to De Kinderen, where the government had successfully addressed a number of issues.
Projects completed from prior discussions included the installation of street poles, provision of electricity, and road repairs.
This follow-up engagement allowed residents to bring forth any remaining concerns, reinforcing the government’s commitment to ongoing community development and responsive governance.
Regional Councilor Besh Patty, who was present at the meeting, noted that the government’s approach to regular community engagement fosters timely solutions to pressing local challenges.
The session concluded with residents expressing satisfaction and optimism that their issues would soon be addressed.
Minister Indar’s outreach efforts are part of the government’s broader initiative to support local development through direct interaction with communities across Guyana.
