Minister Edghill Urges Timely Resolution of Utility Pole Issue in Site Visits

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, undertook inspections of various ongoing infrastructure projects in Region Four.

The purpose of these visits was to ensure contractors are adhering to project timelines.

Contractors highlighted a recurring challenge: the delayed removal of utility poles and wires, causing project setbacks.

Minister Edghill emphasized that contractors are aware of the protocols to address this issue, and it should not serve as an excuse.

Additionally, Minister Edghill provided updates on the progress of the new Demerara Harbour Bridge construction.

The ongoing infrastructure projects aim to enhance connectivity and accessibility across the country.

Sites visited included the Grove/Diamond project, the new Demerara Harbour Bridge site, Ogle/Eccles roads, Aubrey Barker Road, ‘Red Road’, Cemetery Road, Lamaha Street, ‘Conversation Tree’, East Coast Railway Embankment, and Industry (Orphanage Road).
