Minister Edghill Spreads Christmas Cheer to Linden Children

December 23, 2024

Minister of Public Works, Hon. Juan Edghill, brought holiday cheer to the children of Linden last Friday when he distributed hundreds of toys at the Party’s office compound.

The festive event also included the lighting of the Christmas tree, a tradition that brought together the community to celebrate the season.

In his remarks, Minister Edghill emphasized the true spirit of Christmas, which is centered on sharing and giving.

He highlighted that this year’s Christmas in Region Ten is particularly special, as the region is experiencing unprecedented development, thanks to the government’s focus on providing equal opportunities and access for all.

During his speech, the Minister noted the importance of ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, enjoys the same opportunities in life.

He stressed, “We believe that if the children of the wealthy can enjoy, then the children of those with needs should enjoy the best education as well. We believe the children in the interior, in the rivers, must enjoy that same education.”

The Minister also took the opportunity to thank the residents of Linden for giving the PPP/C the opportunity to serve for the past four years and expressed his eagerness to continue working with greater zeal and enthusiasm in the upcoming year.

Joining the Minister in flipping the switch to light the Christmas tree was the reigning Miss Guyana/World, Zalika Samuels, adding a touch of glamour to the evening’s celebration.
