Minister Croal Leads Solar Panel Distribution in Region One, Bridging Electricity Gap

Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, took charge of the initiative to distribute solar photovoltaic (PV) home systems to residents in the Matarkai sub-region of Region One.

This endeavor aims to provide equitable access to a reliable electricity supply, narrowing the gap between hinterland and coastal communities.

A total of 45 solar panels were distributed to residents in Tassawini, 55 in Eyelash, 35 in Bamboo Landing, 50 in Big Creek, 375 in Arakaka, 35 in Five Star, and 330 in Oronoque.

Collin Croal, Minister of Housing and Water, emphasized the importance of sustainable initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents.

Deputy Chair of the NDC in the Matarkai sub-region, Celestina Joseph, highlighted the significance of the solar panel distribution for the community.

In addition to the solar panels, the community is set to benefit from the drilling of a new well in the New Year.

To add a festive touch, children present during the distribution were gifted with toys.

This initiative not only addresses the immediate energy needs of the community but also sets the stage for sustainable development and improved living conditions.
