Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, criticized the Opposition’s motion to establish a special select committee for reviewing charges for house lots, labeling it as “confusing.”

He expressed this sentiment during his address in the National Assembly on Thursday night.

Minister Croal emphasized the evolution of the Ministry of Housing and Water and the Central Planning and Housing Authority (CH&PA) since the inception of the 1948 housing program.

He highlighted the efforts of the PPP/C Government in making home ownership more accessible and efficient.

In his remarks, Minister Croal noted the significant strides made by the government, including the allocation of over 33 thousand house lots in three and a half years.

He also mentioned the development of house lots that the previous coalition government had neglected.

Moreover, Minister Croal criticized the performance of the coalition government, stating that close to four thousand homes are currently under construction.

He highlighted that these homes are primarily located in Regions 3 and 4.

In conclusion, Minister Croal defended the government’s housing initiatives and rejected the Opposition’s motion, asserting that it lacked clarity and coherence.
