Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., confidently declared that he would be “cutting ribbons in 2025,” signaling his optimism about the successful completion of key sports infrastructure projects in the coming year.
The bold statement was made after the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall hosted the One Guyana National Futsal final, showcasing the continued investment in sports development.
Over the past four years, the Ministry of Sport has seen substantial investment in infrastructure, athlete development programs, and community initiatives aimed at enhancing Guyana’s presence on the regional and international sports stage.
Although some projects have faced delays, Minister Ramson remains resolute.
“But what I can say is the big projects, you will see those come to life now, and I think that is what is going to be really amazing for the Ministry but also for the country. I’m certain that I will be cutting ribbons in 2025,” he expressed.
The Minister further highlighted the Ministry’s positive outlook for 2025, acknowledging the intense work done over the past four years.
“We put a lot of effort into driving this process through various areas. The Ministry now functions like three different ministries,” Ramson noted.
The Government, through the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, is focused on constructing five stadiums and renovating over 400 community grounds across the country, contributing significantly to the development of sports infrastructure.
With these ongoing efforts, Minister Ramson remains hopeful for an exciting and impactful 2025 for Guyana’s sports sector.
