Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, participated in community engagements in Port Mourant, Berbice, where he discussed measures outlined in the 2024 budget aimed at enhancing citizens’ lives.
The PPP/C administration, upon taking office, committed to ongoing community engagement to ensure citizen participation in improving their lives and communities.
Minister Bharrat reiterated this commitment, emphasizing the importance of citizen input in shaping the country’s development.
Bharrat expressed optimism about Guyana’s future, envisioning significant transformation across all regions by 2030.
He assured citizens that the government’s efforts were just the beginning of a positive trajectory for the nation.
The minister highlighted government initiatives to alleviate the high cost of living, including efforts to increase domestic production of commodities currently imported.
By boosting local production, Bharrat explained, more income could be generated while creating employment opportunities for Guyanese citizens.
In addition to addressing the cost of living, Minister Bharrat outlined plans to improve electricity reliability and other measures aimed at easing financial burdens on citizens.
Looking ahead, Bharrat emphasized the forthcoming opportunities that will arise as the 2024 budget is implemented, signaling continued government commitment to enhancing the nation’s prosperity.
