The Men on Mission (MOM) Father’s Day Walk organized by the Regional Democratic Council in Region Six was hailed as a significant success, underscoring the community’s commitment to positive involvement.
The event, an initiative by President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, commenced on Sunday morning from the Canje Bridge, concluding at the New Amsterdam Recreational Park.
Participants engaged in various physical activities upon reaching the park, preceding the official program.
Senior Minister Dr. Ashni Singh, responsible for Finance and Public Service, and Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat, joined regional officials at the event.
They extended warm Father’s Day greetings and stressed the crucial role of men in assuming family responsibilities and fostering positive community impact, thereby enhancing the nation.
Region Six Chairman David Armogan emphasized the importance of male participants serving as role models and mentors for youth, aiming to mitigate issues like domestic violence within households.
Regional Vice Chairman Zamal Hussain and Regional Executive Officer Narindra Persaud, alongside several other regional officials, also attended the event.
