The Meadowbrook Nets and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) basketball teams delivered commanding victories in the latest round of the Guyana Basketball Federation’s One Guyana Basketball League, held at the National Gymnasium hard court.
In the first match, the Meadowbrook Nets showcased both offensive and defensive prowess with a convincing 67-53 win over the Plaisance Guardians.
The Nets set the tone early, scoring 17 points in the first quarter while limiting the Guardians to just 13.
They maintained their momentum in the second quarter, matching their first-quarter score of 17 points.
The Guardians mounted a spirited comeback in the third quarter, scoring 20 points and limiting the Nets to 15.
However, the Nets regained control in the final quarter, putting up 18 points while holding the Guardians to just 9, sealing a dominant win.
In the second game, the GDF team claimed victory over the Panthers with a 43-31 scoreline, further strengthening their position in the league.
The One Guyana Basketball League will continue Wednesday evening at the same venue.
