Mashramani 2024: Costume and Float Parade Winners Announced

This year’s Mashramani costume and float parade showcased a dazzling array of creativity and talent, with Muneshwers, GYSBI, and the Office of the Prime Minister emerging as some of the top winners, as announced by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport.

The competition featured bands categorized into full and semi costume bands, as well as Queen and King of the Band, and Individual Male and Female costumes.

In the Full Costume Category for large bands, Muneshwers & GYSBI clinched the top spot, followed by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport in second place, with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ministry of Public Works securing third and fourth place respectively.

The Medium Band category saw the Ministry of Housing claiming first place, trailed by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health.

Heritage Band stood out in the Small Bands category for full costumes, securing the first-place position, followed by the Ministry of Local Government and Ministry of Human Services.

For Semi Costume bands, the Ministry of Agriculture took the lead in the large band category, while the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Labour emerged victorious in the medium and small band categories respectively.

The Ministry of Public Works was recognized as the Queen and King of the Band, along with triumphing in the Individual Female costume category.

Other notable winners included the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Education in the Queen and King of the Band categories.

In the individual costume categories, the Ministry of Human Services claimed the top spot for females, while the Ministry of Human Services, Ministry of Natural Resources, and Ministry of Health secured the top positions in the male category.

Olympia Small-Sonaram was honored with the Designer of the Year award, while Vanilla claimed the title of Road March.

The Mashramani costume and float parade once again highlighted the vibrancy and cultural richness of Guyana’s celebrations, showcasing the immense talent and creativity of its people.
