Guyanese boxers Dexter Marques and Elton Dharry are set to go head-to-head for the WBA super flyweight title on April 20 at the Everest Cricket Club Ground.
Following their contrasting victories last June, Marques and Dharry are now poised to vie for a shot at the World Boxing Association’s super flyweight gold championship, with the winner potentially earning a coveted WBA title shot.
In a heated exchange on Wednesday at the Everest Cricket Club, the two fighters traded barbs, setting the stage for an intense showdown in the ring.
Marques and Dharry have crossed paths before in 2011, with Dharry emerging victorious via a 7th-round knockout.
However, Marques is eager for redemption, fueled by the desire to secure victory this time around.
Trainer Don Saxby, in Dharry’s corner, expressed confidence in his boxer’s preparedness for the fight, emphasizing their readiness for any eventuality.
On the other hand, Keyola Hinckson, manager of Dexter Marques, exuded confidence in her boxer’s abilities, affirming his determination to emerge victorious in the upcoming bout.
The clash between Marques and Dharry promises to be a thrilling spectacle, with both fighters primed to showcase their skills and determination inside the ring.
