Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha recently announced plans for the construction of an all-weather road and agricultural support initiatives for residents of Maria’s Lodge and surrounding communities.
During a weekend visit to the area, Minister Mustapha highlighted these developments aimed at enhancing infrastructure and agricultural productivity in the region.
The proposed road will improve access to farmlands, homes, and schools, benefiting the local community.
Additionally, Minister Mustapha outlined ongoing efforts to support farmers, including the allocation of 200 acres of farmland.
He noted that significant progress has already been made, with nearly 120 acres already completed for agricultural purposes.
The minister emphasized the provision of additional assistance such as breeding animals and land clearing to further support farmers in the area.
Residents expressed appreciation for the minister’s commitments and efforts to improve their livelihoods.
Isaac Sarju, a resident of Catherina Sophia, commended Minister Mustapha for delivering on promises related to land clearing, drainage, and irrigation.
The announcement of an all-weather road was welcomed as a significant contribution to enhancing livelihoods and agricultural activities in the region.
During the visit, residents also raised concerns about water and electricity, which were addressed by the authorities.
Minister Mustapha assured residents of continued collaboration between his ministry and its sub-agencies to ensure optimal agricultural production and community development.
