The annual MVP Sports Girls Under 11 Football Competition is reaching its climax with an exciting final between Marian Academy and St John the Baptist set to take place at the Ministry of Education Ground on Saturday.
The competition, in its fourth year, will crown a new champion as the top two teams face off in the championship match.
Director of the Petra organization, Troy Mendonca, expressed enthusiasm about the quality of play demonstrated by the participating schools and the finalists.
MVP Sports Representative, Selvin Apple, expressed delight at the successful conclusion of the tournament, providing a platform for young girls to showcase their football skills.
Head Coach of Marian Academy, Troy Wright, conveyed the confidence of his players as they reach their first final in the competition, emphasizing the importance of teamwork.
Representative of St John the Baptist, Chrystal Semple-Gunraj, highlighted the team’s dedication and readiness for the final, emphasizing their hard work throughout the tournament.
The final is scheduled to kick off at 15:30, preceded by matches for placement and the third-place clash.
The winning school will receive $150,000 towards a school project and a trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $100,000, $75,000, and $50,000, respectively, also towards school projects, along with individual prizes.
