A new champion will be crowned in the Courts Optical Pee Wee Under-11 Football Tournament following Marian Academy’s thrilling semi-final victory over defending champions St. Pius Primary on Saturday.
Marian Academy now advances to the final, where they will face Santa Rosa Primary in what promises to be an exciting showdown.
Marian Academy secured their spot in the final with a 2-1 victory against St. Pius Primary. Cristiano La Rose was the hero of the match, scoring twice—first in the 10th minute and again in the 25th minute—to give Marian a commanding lead.
St. Pius managed to pull one back with a late goal by Jovaine Wright, but it wasn’t enough to prevent their elimination.
The second semi-final also delivered a closely contested match, with Santa Rosa Primary defeating St. John the Baptist Primary 2-1.
Santa Rosa’s goals came from Deon Henry and Ethan Richards in the 14th and 17th minutes, respectively.
St. John the Baptist responded with a goal from Kareme Welcome in the 27th minute but could not find an equalizer before the final whistle.
The highly anticipated final will take place on Saturday, November 2, at the Ministry of Education Ground.
Football fans can expect a fierce contest as Marian Academy and Santa Rosa Primary vie for the title of Pee Wee Under-11 champions.
