Roopchan Taylor was earlier today, at the Supreme Court, sentenced to eight years in prison for the unlawful killing of 66-year-old cab driver Aaron Damdar.
The incident occurred at Ogle Sideline Dam back in October of 2019.
The sexagenarian died days after he fell to the ground after being hit in the face by Taylor who had come to the aid of his mother.
It is reported that Taylor’s mom who was intoxicated was attacked by a taxi driver while she was trying to board the car.
Having heard the commotion Taylor came to his mother’s aid resulting in an argument.
Taylor’s eight-year sentence will be deducted from time already spent on remand.
