Significant infrastructural improvements are on the horizon for Region Ten. 

Public Works Minister Juan Edghill made the announcement during Wednesday’s Cabinet outreach, assuring residents that key community projects are being prioritized to drive local development.

Minister Edghill highlighted that over the past five years, Region Ten has seen major investments in public infrastructure, including extensive road upgrades, drainage improvements, and the refurbishment of river landing sites.

He outlined several milestone projects, such as the Linden to Mabura Road and the rehabilitation of the Linden-Soesdyke Highway.

“We are 80 per cent complete with the Linden to Mabura Road, we have just signed a contract to continue another 30 KLM beyond Mabura to keep going on to Kurupukari; the Soesdyke Linden Highway you are enjoying the drive and we are now getting the section from splashmin all the way to the bank road and the roundabout is to start soon,” he said.

Minister Edghill also reassured residents that the installation of new road lights along the highway is among the major upcoming developments.

“More importantly, the infrastructure for lights, lights on the highways… and the president is on me to make sure those lights come on,” he added.

Residents, during their discourse with the Minister at the Cabinet outreach, praised the government’s efforts to improve mobility and infrastructure in the region, noting the positive impact on community life and economic activity.
