Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge Project Stakeholders Meet; Minister Assures Community Concerns Will Be Addressed

October 12, 2024

A stakeholder meeting on the Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge project recently brought together local residents, project officials, and regional representatives to discuss the much-anticipated infrastructure development.

Lindeners expressed their concerns and suggestions on the multi-million-dollar bridge project aimed at enhancing connectivity between Linden and other regions.

Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill, attended the meeting, assuring the community that their concerns will be taken into account.

He emphasized that the bridge will significantly improve regional connectivity and noted the community’s general support for the upcoming detour road, which will allow traffic flow during construction.

Officials from China Railway Construction, the company handling the project, confirmed that the work is on schedule, with the project slated for completion by April 2026.

The construction process will begin on Monday with the detour road opening, followed by work on the access road, which is essential for establishing the temporary bridge structure.

The first foundation for the four-lane bridge is planned for January 2025, marking a significant step toward the project’s timely completion.
