Mackenzie High School has secured the top positions in Region Ten for the 2024 CSEC examinations, with three of its students—Taushansia Alder, Janee Greene, and Janae Bristol—delivering exceptional performances.
Taushansia Alder emerged as the region’s top performer, achieving ten grade ones, three grade twos, one grade three, and one grade four.
Alder’s strong results reflect her dedicated preparation and consistent effort over the past two years.
Janee Greene followed closely with nine grade ones and one grade two. Greene’s results were anticipated, but she was nonetheless surprised to rank among the top three in the region.
Her success was attributed to extensive use of past papers, lessons, and supplementary study resources, particularly in subjects that initially presented challenges.
Janae Bristol attained eight grade ones, five grade twos, and one grade three. Bristol expressed satisfaction with her performance, noting that while she hoped for additional grade ones, she is pleased with her overall results.
Following her completion of fifth form, Bristol plans to pursue an associate’s degree in law at Bishops High School, with future aspirations to study law and journalism, and potentially psychology.
The remarkable achievements of these students underscore Mackenzie High School’s prominent role in regional education, with the institution claiming all top ten positions in Region Ten for the 2024 CSEC examinations.
Both Greene and Alder will continue their academic journeys, with Greene advancing to President’s College for sixth form and Alder continuing her studies at the University of Guyana.
