Mackenzie High and Linden Technical Institute Face Off in U-21 Schools Basketball Final

The excitement is palpable as Mackenzie High and Linden Technical Institute gear up to vie for the top spot in the U-21 Schools Basketball Final, which commences today at the Retrieve Hard Court.

Linden Technical Institute, having triumphed over Kwakwani in Group A last Friday, secured their spot in the three-team finals.

They will now face off against Mackenzie High, the best team from Group B, in what promises to be a riveting showdown.

This tournament is a fitting tribute to Education Month in Region 10, organized by the Brusches Basketball Foundation and Kings Basketball Club, in partnership with the Department of Education and the Linden Mayor and Town Council.

In their decisive Group A encounter last Friday, Linden Technical Institute outplayed Kwakwani Secondary with a final score of 50-36, following a halftime lead of 28-15. Neil Marks (Jr.) led the charge with an impressive 15 points, supported by S. George with 12 points and Collin Phillips contributing 10.

On the opposing side, Cordel Hoyte and Aaron Logan of Kwakwani proved formidable with 13 points each.

The first game of the playoffs will witness a fierce clash between Mackenzie High and Linden Technical Institute. The third contender, Group C’s winners, Christianburg Wismar Secondary, will join the action next Wednesday when they face off against Mackenzie High School, also at the Retrieve Hard Court.

The grand finale of these playoffs is scheduled for next Friday, featuring a showdown between Christianburg Wismar Secondary and Linden Technical Institute at the same venue, starting at 3:00 PM.
