Lusignan Cricket Club Secures Victory in ECCA 100-Balls Tournament

In an exhilarating match held at the Lusignan ground, the Lusignan Cricket Club emerged victorious against Fair Field in the Double V’s Auto Sales East Coast Cricket Association (ECCA) 100-ball tournament on Sunday.

Batting first, Lusignan posted a competitive total of 126/8 within the allotted 100 balls.

Shazam Ali showcased his batting prowess with a notable contribution of 30 runs, which included a four and two sixes.

Robin Williams and Kumar Bishundial also made valuable contributions, scoring 20 and 17 runs respectively.

Fair Field’s bowling effort was led by Ramnarine Chatura, who claimed impressive figures of 3 for 18 off his 20 balls.

In response, Fair Field put up a commendable fight but fell short by 6 runs, finishing at 120 for 6 wickets within the stipulated 100 balls.

Despite their efforts, they were unable to chase down the target set by Lusignan.

Lusignan’s Neeran Bani and Karamchan Persaud played pivotal roles in restricting Fair Field’s innings, each taking two wickets.

With this victory, Lusignan Cricket Club clinched the title and earned a well-deserved prize of $100,000, while Fair Field, the runner-up, received $75,000 in recognition of their efforts.

The thrilling encounter showcased the talent and competitiveness of the teams participating in the ECCA 100-balls tournament, highlighting the passion and dedication prevalent in local cricket.
