The 2024 Regional Food Festival has proven to be a significant success for local businesses, offering them a boost in exposure and sales over its five-day run.

The festival, which showcased the rich culinary traditions of Guyana and the wider Caribbean, wrapped up on Sunday, attracting large crowds of both local patrons and international tourists.

Participants reported an increase in customer engagement, with many expressing optimism about the opportunities presented by the festival.

Abigail John, owner of Proppa Local Wine, reflected on her experience, stating, “I have attended every food festival, and this year was unlike any other with the outcome.”

Raymond David, owner of Sweet Elegance Restaurant & Lounge, shared his excitement about the festival, noting, “I think for us, it has been a tremendous success. The turnout has exceeded my expectations.”

Similarly, Dixie Jordan, owner of Dixie’s Punch Le Crème, mentioned that the festival has opened up new avenues for business growth.

The event is a key part of the calendar for the Caribbean Premiere League (CPL), and with the announcement that Guyana will host the CPL 2025 finals, local businesses are looking forward to even greater opportunities for exposure and success.

As the festival concluded, the community’s support and the diverse culinary experiences provided a vibrant atmosphere that showcased the best of Guyanese cuisine.

This year’s festival not only elevated local businesses but also highlighted the rich cultural tapestry of the region, paving the way for future growth and collaboration.
