In a testament to their exceptional officiating skills, Lindeners Shavin Green and Denesha Isaacs have once again secured their accreditations to referee international FIFA games for the year 2024.

This marks their second consecutive year receiving the prestigious FIFA badges.

Green has qualified as a FIFA referee, while Isaacs has been accredited as an assistant FIFA referee.

Both referees successfully completed the CFU next-generation course in July 2022, contributing to their recognition as part of the select group of Guyanese referees authorized to officiate at the international FIFA level.

NCN had the opportunity to speak with Shavin Green, who expressed his gratitude for the continued opportunity to expand his expertise in the field.

Reflecting on his journey, Green stated, “Last year’s journey was a very good one, being my first year.

It taught me a lot, and I’m still in the development process, looking forward to spending a lot of years on the FIFA list and getting more tournaments and going to higher-level matches.”

Green has already officiated in various international tournaments, including the CONCACAF under 17 championships in Guatemala, Nations League, Dallas Cup, and the Caribbean Club Shield in Trinidad and Jamaica.

Looking ahead to the upcoming year, Green is set to officiate in the CONCACAF Under 20 qualifiers.

He shared his anticipation, saying, “This year should be good as well. There’s a lot of football playing within the region. I’m scheduled to go to the U 20 qualifiers, where there will be like one week of matches in six different countries. Not sure which country I’ll be going to and which group I’ll be officiating in, but the focus is on getting more matches to develop.”

Green harbors aspirations of eventually officiating on the FIFA World Cup field, showcasing his dedication to advancing in the field of international refereeing.

Additionally, Assistant FIFA referee Kleon Lindley and Assistant FIFA Futsal referee Colin Abel join Green and Isaacs as the other two Guyanese referees included in the FIFA 2024 refereeing list.

This achievement reflects the caliber of talent within Guyana’s refereeing community and highlights their contributions to the global football landscape.
