Over the weekend, Lindeners demonstrated significant interest in pursuing military careers as they participated in the Guyana Defence Forces’ recruitment drive.
The event, held at the Force’s Drill hall in the Constabulary compound, saw approximately twenty young individuals taking steps towards joining Guyana’s military ranks.
With a budget of 42.2 billion dollars allocated to strengthen the capabilities of the Guyana Defence Force, a widespread recruitment initiative has been underway.
Major Cranston France, leading the recruitment team, emphasized the availability of alternative recruitment avenues for those who couldn’t participate in the event.
He highlighted that recruitment efforts are ongoing across the country, ensuring accessibility for interested individuals.
The primary goal of the recruitment drive is to attract young people aspiring for military careers.
Over the weekend, around thirty individuals expressed interest, with twenty successfully completing the recruitment process. Eligibility criteria dictate that participants must be between 18 and 25 years old.
