The Linden Mayor and Town Council clarified that no events have been approved for Linden Town Week 2024 as of yet.
The announcement was made during the statutory meeting of councilors at the LM&TC conference room.
Councilor Sancha Halley raised concerns about several flyers circulating on social media advertising activities for the upcoming Linden Town Week.
Councilor Halley highlighted that a Linden Town Week Committee has not been formed, and, therefore, no official approval has been granted for the advertised events.
She urged the council to inform the public that none of the events mentioned in the flyers had received approval from the body.
Acting Mayor Dominque Blair emphasized that, indeed, no Linden Town Week activities have been approved by the council.
He stated that the council has never made any decisions regarding the mentioned events and suggested directing inquiries to the social committee.
Halley further called for continued collaboration between the council and the Police Force to ensure that the process of event approval aligns with local municipality mandates.
The Linden Town Week celebration traditionally commemorates the diverse culture of Linden, promoting local art, businesses, sports, and entertainment.
As of now, residents are advised to await official announcements from the Linden Mayor and Town Council regarding the approval of events for Linden Town Week 2024.
