The Youth Basketball Guyana League witnessed thrilling action over the weekend as Linden Technical Institute (LTI), Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA), and the Government Technical Institute (GTI) emerged victorious in their respective matches.

In the first matchup, the Guyana School of Agriculture claimed a commanding victory over the New Amsterdam Technical Institute with a final score of 57-41.

Despite a strong effort from NATI’s Timothy Rampersaud and Jared Dainty, who scored 16 and 10 points, respectively, it was not enough to overcome GSA’s dominance.

In the second match, GTI showcased their prowess as they defeated Upper Corentyne Combined by a significant margin of 67-37.

Peter Lavgevine led GTI with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Jamal Mercier and Martin Edwards added 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Federick Lashley stood out for Upper Corentyne Combined, scoring 24 points in a valiant effort.

Match number three witnessed a remarkable performance from Linden Technical Institute, who outplayed the defending champions, University of Guyana Trojans, with a final score of 70-42.

The Lindeners dominated from the beginning, outscoring UG in the first half 34-21 and maintaining their momentum in the second half.

Kemol Grimmond led the charge for LTI with 23 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, supported by Lerone Joseph with 11 points.

Despite efforts from UG’s Oroyo Trotman and Jushawn Bailey, who scored 16 and 13 points, respectively, they couldn’t match LTI’s intensity.
