The Youth Basketball Guyana Titan Bowl 13 and Tertiary Knockout Championships concluded on Sunday night at the National Gymnasium with commanding victories from Linden Technical Institute (LTI) and Queen’s College.
In the secondary school final, Queen’s College triumphed over Kwakwani Secondary with a 49-46 win.
Queen’s came out strong from the tip-off, scoring 13 points while holding Kwakwani to just 4.
By halftime, Queen’s had a commanding 24-7 lead.
Despite a resilient comeback from Kwakwani in the third quarter, Queen’s maintained their composure and finished the game with a three-point margin.
In the Tertiary finale, LTI dominated the Government Technical Institute (GTI) 43-30. LTI started strong with a 17-8 halftime lead, and despite GTI’s best efforts in the second half, LTI maintained their advantage and won comfortably.
Stephen George, captain of LTI, shared his thoughts after the win, saying, “We ain’t lose in the past three tournaments, we knew we would win from the start. We played with confidence.”
He added, “Next year, we’re going to come stronger, and we’ll make sure we dominate.”
The YBG Tournament provided a platform for student-athletes to showcase their talents.
