The National Clean-Up Exercise reached Linden, Region 10, today, with residents and organizations coming together to enhance the cleanliness and aesthetics of their communities.

Spearheading the initiative was Regional Executive Officer (REO) Dwight John, who emphasized the importance of fostering a healthy and clean environment in Guyana.

This marks the tenth clean-up exercise as part of a nationwide effort to encourage civic responsibility.

The Linden Mayor and Town Council partnered with private entities such as Cevon’s Waste Management, Bosai Minerals Group, and the Linden Hospital Complex to ensure waste was collected and disposed of properly.

Communities including Amelia’s Ward, Speightland, Central Mackenzie, One Mile, Silvertown, Christianburg, and West Watooka were actively involved.

Residents worked alongside garbage disposal agencies to clear Republic Avenue and surrounding areas.

The REO urged residents and businesses to maintain their surroundings beyond the clean-up day, underscoring the initiative’s goal of instilling long-term environmental stewardship among the populace.

The National Clean-Up Exercise continues to bring together citizens, private businesses, and local authorities in a united effort to promote cleanliness and national pride.
