Preparations are in full swing for the highly anticipated second annual Linden Regatta, promising an even more thrilling experience for patrons. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Kara Kara Blue Lake, this year’s event, scheduled for Sunday, September 17, will feature over twenty exhilarating jet boat races and kayaking competitions.
Co-organizer Yannick Charles is leaving no stone unturned to enhance the venue and ensure a superior experience. “We’re trying to create a new view of the lake, an additional view of the lake for more patrons to enjoy a nice safe space,” he said. VIP cabanas will be available for rent, along with additional parking spaces, and a more convenient entry process for spectators. Parking challenges from last year’s event are being addressed, with more spaces and closer proximity to the viewing area.
Safety remains a top priority, with title sponsors Sheriff Security Inc. and support from the Guyana Police Force, guaranteeing patrons a secure environment. The regatta will feature 15 categories of jet boat races, including a female participant, and star drivers like Neil Gonsalves and Conan Belle. The event will also host kayaking competitions, pitting Linden against Bartica.
