In support of the national Men on Mission (MOM) initiative, men from Linden, Region Ten, united under the banner “Stronger Together against Violence” for a Father’s Day walk.
The event, aimed at promoting unity and taking a stand against violence, began at the Linden Centennial Arch.
Participants walked through key locations including Washer Pond Road, Sir David Rose Avenue, and Republic Avenue, before assembling at the Linden Municipal Park.
This initiative aimed to reinforce the role of men as heads of their families while highlighting their responsibility in combating violence.
Lennox Gasper, a member of Men on Mission, emphasized the critical role men play in addressing violence, noting that while men are often labeled as perpetrators, violence can be instigated by anyone.
He stressed the importance of men standing together in unity to create a violence-free society.
Launched by President Dr. Irfaan Ali in October 2022, the Men on Mission initiative provides a platform for men to enact positive changes through community projects, capacity-building initiatives, and programs addressing male-specific issues.
Last year, MOM promoted a “Dads at Home Day,” encouraging fathers to spend quality time with their children through bonding activities.
