Linden Gears Up for Guyana’s 58th Independence

As preparations intensify for Guyana’s 58th Independence celebration at the Mackenzie Stadium in Linden, beautification efforts are in full swing to ensure a memorable and historic event.

Over the weekend, Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips spearheaded a clean-up campaign in Linden, joined by Minister of Public Works Bishop Juan Edghill and regional leaders.

The initiative aimed to kick start the beautification process for the Independence Day celebration.

NCN had the opportunity to speak with Minister Edghill, who emphasized the importance of the clean-up efforts led by the Prime Minister.

He highlighted the significance of ensuring that the surroundings of the host venue and eleven other areas leading to it are immaculately clean for the event.

A visit to the Mackenzie Stadium provided insight into the progress of the preparation works for the official ceremony.

Minister Edghill also shared tips on how residents can demonstrate their patriotism during this significant occasion.
