Linden Celebrates Guyana’s 54th Republic Anniversary with Flag Raising Ceremony

Lindeners came together in celebration to mark Guyana’s 54th Republic anniversary on Thursday evening, culminating in a symbolic flag-raising ceremony held in front of the Regional Democratic Council building.

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, addressed residents ahead of the flag-raising, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the nation.

He urged for mature and rational leadership to navigate the country forward, fostering robust discussions for the benefit of all Guyanese.

Reflecting on the significance of Guyana’s Republican Status, Member of Parliament Jermain Figuera highlighted the milestone achieved 54 years ago.

He underscored the importance of national identity and unity, rooted in the nation’s motto of “One people, one Nation, one Destiny.”

Mayor Sharma Solomon and Regional Chairman Derron John echoed the sentiment of promoting Linden as the heart of Guyana, emphasizing the importance of utilizing events like the flag-raising ceremony to showcase Linden’s cultural richness and significance.
