January 13, 2025

Registration for the $100,000 cash grant for citizens aged 18 and above has officially commenced in Region 10, with residents lining up at various registration sites across Linden.

The initiative aims to support citizens financially, and thirty-eight registration sites have been established to ensure a smooth process.

Many residents, including Sharon Vancooten, Gerline Bowen, and Venton Montooth, shared their satisfaction with the registration process, expressing gratitude for the government’s support.

Vancooten, in particular, emphasized how the grant would assist in her plans to support others.

Bowen highlighted her appreciation for the process, while McPherson underscored her need for a new home.

Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh reported that 302,000 checks have been printed, with over 90,000 already distributed.

At the completion of the registration exercise, the government is set to inject approximately $60 billion into the pockets of Guyanese citizens, further supporting the government’s efforts to enhance livelihoods across the nation.
