Linden Fund USA (LFU) continued its dedication to education in Region Ten by organizing its annual Spelling Bee competition at the LICHAS Hall, showcasing the academic prowess of Linden’s young learners.

In a display of spelling excellence, 22 grade five pupils from eleven schools in Linden engaged in 15 rounds of intense competition.

Emerging victorious from the competition were students from Regma Primary School, with Fernanda Gomez claiming the first position and Renata Ramdehol securing the second.

Omarion Wilson from Watooka Day Primary School clinched the third spot.

The top three spellers were awarded tablets and trophies, while each participant received a trophy for their participation.

Additionally, Regma Primary School was honored with the Regional Chairman championship trophy.

Paula Walcott-Quintin, Chairperson of Linden Fund USA, emphasized LFU’s long-standing commitment to educational initiatives in the region.

Quintin highlighted LFU’s annual Spelling Bee program, which has been ongoing since 2009, as one of several educational endeavors undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

She also mentioned LFU’s recent teacher workshops at the Linden Technical Institute, showcasing their multifaceted approach to supporting education in the region.

This year’s Spelling Bee competition holds special significance as it coincides with LFU’s 25th anniversary.

To mark the occasion, LFU hosted an Open House Event at their compound, celebrating a quarter-century of dedication to educational excellence in Region Ten.

The success of the Spelling Bee competition underscores LFU’s commitment to empowering young learners and fostering academic achievement in Linden.
