Lennox Gasper Appointed as Linden’s New Town Clerk

The Local Government Commission has appointed Lennox Gasper as the new Town Clerk of the municipality of Linden, succeeding the former Town Clerk, Orleena Obermuller, who resigned from the position.

Lennox Gasper brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as a Municipal Councilor from 2016 to 2018.

He also held the position of revenue clerk at the same institution.

In response to his appointment, Gasper expressed his commitment to serving the residents of Linden.

Hitting the ground running, Gasper has already initiated discussions with relevant stakeholders to outline the way forward for the township.

In addition to his immediate plans, Gasper outlined his advocacy for staff training, strategies to increase income generation for the council, and continuous engagement with residents in the communities.

His predecessor, Orleena Obermuller, served as Deputy Town Clerk from 2016 and was sworn in as Linden’s Town Clerk in 2019.

Residents of Linden shared their thoughts on Gasper’s appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to execute the responsibilities of the Town Clerk effectively.

Audwin Rutherford, Head of Linmine Secretariat, noted Gasper’s familiarity with the town.

Leola Narine, Assistant Regional Executive Officer, expressed confidence in Gasper’s execution capabilities.

Hon. Jermaine Figueira MP, Chairman of the PNC/R Region 10, wished Gasper success in his new role.

Jafar Muhammed, a religious leader, echoed the sentiments of well-wishing for Gasper’s tenure as Town Clerk.

The appointment of Lennox Gasper is poised to bring fresh perspectives and initiatives to the municipal administration in Linden.
