Lady Jags Gearing Up for Crucial CONCACAF Clash

Guyana’s senior women’s football team, the Lady Jags, are set to face off against neighboring Suriname in a critical CONCACAF Women Gold Cup qualifier match.

Head coach Omar Khan expressed his team’s determination to secure a victory in Suriname. He highlighted the team’s preparation, which included video analysis, instilling confidence, and focusing on achieving a positive outcome.

After an initial setback with a 2-1 loss to Antigua and Barbuda, the Lady Jags made a powerful comeback with a resounding 5-0 victory over Dominica in their Road to Concacaf W Gold Cup campaign.

This win earned them their first three points in Group A, League B.

The top teams from each League B group, totaling three, will advance to the 2024 W Gold Cup Prelims.

Midfielders Jalade Trim, Brianne Desa, and Otesha Charles are set to join the team for the upcoming match in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Additionally, Aneesa O’Brien, Sydney Cummings, Briana DeSouza, Justine Rodrigues, Shanice Alfred, Glendy Lewis, and Neema Liverpool have been added to the roster.
